Listen: Dirk Nowitzki dishes on NBA superteams, his bachelor party on Jim Rome Podcast

We here at Dallas Sports Fanatic get that after a long day at your dream job, you’d rather be bumping “Bodak Yellow” in the car ride home instead of listening to the latest sports-related podcast. But let’s get real here for a second, we’re in the Dog Days of Summer when it comes to Dirk Nowitkizi’s career and you’ve got to jump on any content  Dirk-related content while you can and appreciate what’s left of the Dunking Deutschman.

In a special interview on the Jim Rome Podcast, Dirk talks everything from his Pro Celebrity Tennis Classic (8:46), comparing his tennis game to John Isner (10:51), his bachelor party in Toronto and Las Vegas (17:05), and eating goat at his wedding (20:01).

The Great Nowitzki also talked about whether he ever thought about joining an NBA super team (25:48):

“I’ve always said that if we didn’t win a championship here in Dallas then that would have been an option for me. I think winning a championship is just such an unbelievable accomplishment, also an experience for you, not only on a personal level but with the team. When I saw the city here, how it went bananas, we had like 300,000 people in the streets in the parade, I want anyone to go through this one time and really experience it.

I always said now if we didn’t win it in 2011 would have been a possibility, but when we won it then I knew this is the place I wanted to be. I’ve been here so long. It’s like I’m part of the community. People are always saying joking-wise, “Dirk’s from Dallas,” obviously no I’m not, it just feels like that. I’ve been here so long. I’ve been a part of the community for so long. We’ve been doing great charity work for so long. I belong here. A different jersey at this point would just be completely weird.”
