The Dallas Mavericks (12-14) will host the New Orleans Pelicans (11-13) looking to win their fourth-straight game Friday night.
This is the 5th game of seven straight home games for the Mavs. On Wednesday, Dallas came away with a one point win against the Atlanta Hawks.
Meanwhile, the Pelicans had their four-game winning streak snapped by the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
Lonzo Ball is on fire
Coming into the month of February, Lonzo Ball was shooting about 31 percent from 3 and averaging 12 points per game. Since the calendar turned to February and he found himself in trade rumors, he is averaging 17 points a game and shooting 51 percent from 3.
Mavs Bench Mob
The Dallas bench has been lights out during this winning streak, led by Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson. Having two starter quality players like Tim and Jalen leading the second unit gives the Mavericks an advantage over most bench units in the league.
If THJ and Brunson can continue their hot shooting tonight, the Mavericks will have a good chance at walking away with a fourth-straight win.
Standing implications for this game
Coming into the season, both of these teams had the expectations of making the playoffs. After slow starts to the season, both of these teams currently sit on the outside of the playoffs looking in. The season series record could play a role down the road between these teams.
