An early bye week in the NFL is usually frowned upon, but this year it’s much needed. The Cowboys have lost two straight and are dealing with injuries and the recent anthem protest comments made by their owner, Jerry Jones. The Cowboys will get away from it all for a few days, and hopefully come back ready to get their season back on track.
In the meantime, there is football to be played. The Eagles travel to play Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers tonight on Thursday Night Football. This is a game all Cowboys fans would like to see result in victory for the Panthers, as the Cowboys sit 2 games out of the NFC east lead at this point.
The Washington Redskins will host the winless San Francisco 49ers squad, while the New York Giants will have to survive Mile High in Denver in order to get their first victory of the season.
