It’s only a matter of time before the Dallas Mavericks and Nerlens Noel agree on a deal. The Mavs front office is smart in their handling of Noel’s contract situation, allowing the three-year veteran to test free agency to determine what his market value is.
However, last week Noel’s agent Happy Walters said that the Mavericks have yet to come up with a “realistic contract offer” according to a report by Sports Day DFW.
“We’re very disappointed with where things stand,” Walters said. “Nerlens loves Dallas and spent June there working out, but we’re still waiting on a serious offer.”
Noel averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 22 games with the Mavs last season.
While the Mavs and Noel don’t appear to be close on a deal, it hasn’t stopped the 23 year-old center from showing off his offseason workouts.
“Cool summer .. I’m 23 and I been workin’ on me! #JordanYear #IdBetOnMyself,” Noel posted to his official account on Wednesday.
A secret message to Mark Cuban and the Mavs? You bet it is.
