During a Twitter rant Saturday afternoon, Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins-Smith reveals she was pregnant during the ‘entire’ 2018 season.
The vocal All-Star sat out all of last season after giving birth to her first child earlier this year.
I played the ENTIRE season pregnant last year! All star, and led league (top 3-5) in MPG….didn’t tell a soul.

Diggins-Smith ended that season averaging 17.9 points and 6.2 assists. It doesn’t need to be said but I’ll say it anyway: women are incredible.
While settling into motherhood and focusing on her son, Diggins-Smith says she was dealing with postpartum depression and had very limited resources to help stabilize her mental and physical health.
People called me a quitter, said I gave up on my team, etc., etc.
Not knowing I took two FULL months away from everything because of postpartum depression. With limited resources to help me be successful mentally/physically.
But just wait though….KEEP THAT SAME ENERGY.

The blasts that disrespect of mothers (and our rights) in the WNBA is incredible. I can’t wait until you hear my story FROM ME!

There seems to be a lot of water under this bridge as Diggins-Smith apparently grows more and more frustrated with the league. It was only a day ago that she tweeted this curious tweet:
Having no support from your own organization is unfortunate

It’s unclear whether she is alluding to the Wings organization or the league as a whole, although the Wings office had appeared to be patient and trusting about the new mom taking her time on returning to the court, leaving it “100% up to Skylar.”
At this moment it’s difficult to tell how this story will unfold, but Diggins-Smith has made it clear that we will eventually hear her story from the WNBA veteran, mother, icon herself.
