The Mavs coasted to their 18th win of the season in 107-87 fashion against the New York Knicks. This much-needed win gives the Mavs a 9-4 record away from the AAC.
Tyson Chandler walked in Madison Square Garden as a villain among Knicks fan, but walked out of New York 2-0 against the Knicks this season. Chandler finished the season series with a total of 39 boards (8 point 14 boards on Tuesday night).
Chandler Parsons returned from his lower back issue, recording 13 points and 6 assists.
Dallas got into a groove early in the first quarter with a 36-24 lead, shooting 90% within the first six minutes of the game. But the Knicks wouldn’t let the game slip away easily with a 12-2 run, led by 8 second quarter points from Amare Stoudemire.
The game was pretty much out of the Knicks’ control as the Mavs cruised during the second half. Dallas put on a show with several alley-oops thrown down by Brandan Wright and Tyson Chandler.
A balanced team effort fueled Dallas’ domination. The bench unit contributed 50 points, including important stretches from J.J. Barea and Devin Harris.
When the two teams met about a month ago in Dallas, the Mavericks only made four 3-pointers turned the tables and poured in 15 last night in New York.
No time to celebrate this win; the Dallas Mavericks travel to Detroit to finish their back-to-back road trip with the Pistons.
