In a statement released yesterday, the Dallas Mavericks announced the signing of 7’2″ Tunisian center Salah Mejri. The 29 year-old Mejri is expected to compete for a roster spot along with Jarrid Famous, Samuel Dalembert and Maurice N’dour. Mejri, a native of Jendouba, Tunasia, was a member of the country’s 2012 Summer Olympics team and played sparingly with Real Madrid last season, posting averages of 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in just 8.9 minutes of play.
Very happy to be part of a great team. Can't wait to be there. https://t.co/QFUNy7OBy8

According to a source, the signing of Mejri does not preclude the possibility of adding free agent center JaVale McGee, depending on where is his health is. The Mavs will likely bring in five centers to compete for three roster spots during training camp which begins in late September.
