After dropping its first two games of a three game home-stand, the Dallas Mavericks will look get back in the win column on Monday against the Phoenix Suns.
The Mavericks (13-11) have lost its last two games by a combined six points and dropped three straight at the American Airlines Center. Phoenix (10-14) is winners of three of its last four, and come to Dallas riding the hot hand.
Dallas forward Chandler Parsons said after Saturday night’s loss the team has to work together in order to protect their home floor.
“We have to play much better,” Parsons said. “We laid two eggs here at home. There’s just something collectively we need to do. We need to play more aggressive. We need to play harder and compete.”
What To Watch For:
Old v. New:
Former Maverick Tyson Chandler makes his return to Dallas for the first time this regular season. Chandler signed with the Suns in the offseason when Mark Cuban & Co. elected to pursue Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. We all know how that worked out, so it will be interesting to see how Chandler and Dallas center Zaza Pachulia match up against one another. Pachulia has been a bright spot for the Mavericks early on and is averaging nearly six points per game better than Chandler.
Containing Eric Bledsoe:
Bledsoe leads Phoenix in scoring at 22.3 points per game and will likely be a challenge to defend all night. Dallas shooting guard Wesley Matthews should be primarily matched up with Bledsoe, and it should be fun to watch two talented guards go at it.
How To Watch:
Dallas hosts Phoenix Monday Dec. 14 at the American Airlines Center. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game can be found televised locally on Fox Sports Southwest.
