The Texas Legends will host the Oklahoma City Blue in their home opener on Saturday night. The Legends opened their season with a four game road trip in which they split, with wins in Austin against the Spurs and against the South Bay Lakers.
They have been led by Justin Dentmon in his return to Frisco. He is leading the team in scoring at almost 26 Points per contest. 2 way man Johnathan Motley has also been a solid contributor, posting a monster 37 point, 13 rebound double double in the previous outing against OKC. The Baylor product is averaging 18.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Joining Dentmon in the backcourt is NBA journeyman Donald Sloan. Sloan, formerly of the Nets, Hawks, Hornets, Pacers, Wizards, and Cavaliers has provided a nice spark in the backcourt to go with Dentmon and should mesh well with newcomer, Antonius Cleveland. He is posting a line 20.8 points and 4.5 assists per outing.
As for Oklahoma City, they are coming off a 122-118 win against the Legends. They will bring in a record of 2 wins and 2 losses pending their Friday night game against the Austin Spurs. The Blue are lead by former Connecticut standout Daniel Hamilton, and ex Kentucky big man Dakari Johnson. The versatile swingman is averaging almost 15 points and 8 rebounds to go with nearly 5 assists. Johnson also chips in with 18 points and 8 rebounds per game.
You can watch the game live at Dr.Pepper Arena in Frisco, or catch it on the Legends web page, TexLegends.com. Tip off is at 7:30 Central Standard time.
