Jordan is able to hit the free agent market again by opting out of the final year of a player option worth just over $24.1 million for the 2018-19 season. Report: DeAndre Jordan is Mavs primary target
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon “the Dallas Mavericks have made center DeAndre Jordan their primary target as free agency nears, league sources told ESPN. Averaging 12.0 points and 15.2 rebounds per contest, Jordan is able to hit the free agent market again by opting out of the final year of a player option worth just over $24.1 million for the 2018-19 season. Jordan is well-known for antics that landed him back with the Clippers after verbally committing to Cuban and the Mavs back in 2015.
Wes Matthews on the trading block?
Matthews is in the final year of a four-year deal that will pay him $18.6 million. He averaged 12.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on 40 percents shooting including 38 percent from three last season.
If the Mavs could trade Wes Mathews for DeAndre Jordan, which could be legally executed this salary cap year if Jordan first exercises his $24.1M player option, they’d get their center while reducing their 2018-19 cap room by just $5.5M. https://t.co/9ToAq5Zv6L

Mavericks could be players for UFA's DeMarcus Cousins and DeAndre Jordan, and RFA's Julius Randle, Clint Capela, Aaron Gordon. https://t.co/it4bQRZ3W2

Might as well go ahead and pencil in old friend Devin Harris back to the roster. He was traded to Denver, of course, in a deal that netted the #Mavs shooter Doug McDermott. The plan is for Devin to boomerang back. Great guy, fine player, member of the fam. pic.twitter.com/rUxmT7P04P
