The Dallas Cowboys reported to camp a couple days ago and already started practicing. They will put on the pads for the first time in 2018 on Saturday.
However, that is not the biggest headline from Cowboys camp on Friday. The topic of discussion is former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. On the same day news comes out that Dez and the Browns are having advanced discussions on a one year deal, Stephen Jones just couldn’t stop himself from mentioning Dez when asked about Dak improving in 2018.
When asked about Dak improving, Jones said “Dak is working on his game and accuracy. He has to trust the system. I think that was tough last year with Dez Bryant in his ear, and to some degree Jason (Witten) in his ear.” That last quote right there didn’t sit well with Bryant.
Bryant took to twitter for his response.
Bryant started off by stating he’s sick of being the scapegoat for what’s been wrong with the Dallas offense, and then quickly went to ripping the play calling, saying everyone lined up in the same spot for 17 weeks.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Dez said that it was planned to get him out of Dallas. He mentioned two names as guys who were a part of that, Travis Frederick and “Snake” Sean Lee. Bryant also said that Lee was supposed to be his brother and that they laughed and talked about goals together and never thought they had a problem. He says that Lee was the first one to find out Dez got cut and was behind it.
Sean Lee has responded already, saying he “loves Dez but they did butt heads because he wanted Dez to be more accountable. I think he needs to look at himself and hold himself accountable.”
Dez was getting a lot of feedback as this went on. A lot of people were wondering why he was doing this, why he decided to respond, doesn’t he have better things to do then to sit on Twitter being “bitter”. Dez responded by saying…
Some other highlights of Dez on twitter are…
Dez mentioned he still loves Jerry, just not everyone else at the top of the organization.
He says he’s waiting for the day he can say “I told you so” about the Cowboys coaching staff.
He insists that he has let it go but says he will not shut up when someone is trying to tarnish his name.
He shouted out some former teammates wishing them the best. Those names include Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams. He said he couldn’t tag everyone but they know who they are.
