Dallas Cowboys Stock Report: Week 4

The Dallas Cowboys came away with a much needed home victory Sunday afternoon with a 26-24 comeback victory. It was a game the Cowboys needed to win to avoid going to 1-3 and having more doubt creep in. Dak Prescott was much better and got them in range to kick the game winning field goal.

Here is your week 4 stock report.

STOCK UP

Demarcus Lawrence

The Cowboys decision to not lock Demarcus Lawrence long term this offseason is going to cost the team a lot of money. Lawrence put on a show Sunday with 3 sacks and is now up to 5 ½ sacks on the year to lead the league. Lawrence has at least half a sack in all four games and is currently on pace for 22 sacks this season.

Ezekiel Elliott

What a response by Ezekiel Elliott. After making crucial mistakes a week ago in Seattle, he responded with 240 yards from scrimmage, including 152 yards rushing and 88 receiving yards. His 34 yard over the shoulder catch put the Cowboys in position to kick the game winning field goal. Elliott leads the league in rushing with 426 yards through the first four games. Elliott did come out of this game with a knee and ankle injury, but should be ready to go in Houston.

Chidobe Awuzie

Chidobe Awuzie played really well Sunday. The Lions decided to not throw at Byron Jones and it wasn’t easy for them. While they did complete some passes, it took perfect throws and outstanding catches by the Lions receivers to beat Awuzie. He will be big again Sunday night in Houston against Deandre Hopkins and Will Fuller, if he plays.

STOCK DOWN

Jeff Heath

If there is a weak link on the 2018 Cowboys defense through four games, it would be safety Jeff Heath. He is consistently caught out of position in coverage and even though he is known as a decent tackler, he misses a lot of tackles as well. Golden Tate ran right by him on his first touchdown. Later in the game, Kerryon Johnson introduced himself to Heath on his first career touchdown run by running over Heath.

Tavon Austin

The drops are going around in the Cowboys receiver room. It bit Tavon Austin in this game on a beautifully thrown ball by Dak Prescott that would have been a touchdown if Austin was able to come down with it. Austin is one of the Cowboys best playmakers on offense and should make that play.
