The day has finally arrived! Tonight our Dallas Cowboys will face off against their rivals, the New York Giants in the first game of the NFL 2017 season. The Cowboys have lost the last three games against the Giants and it’s time for that to change. Here’s a gameday preview of what we can expect on the field.
Team leader and quarterback Dak Prescott, will be headlining the game and he will most certainly be out for blood. Despite the fact he lead the Cowboys to a 13-3 season last year, two of those three losses were to the Giants. One can guarantee Dak understands the importance of this game and how it can set a precedent for the season.
Veteran Dez Bryant certainly knows the importance of this game and will be looking to redeem himself after only catching two passes for 18 yards against the Giants last year. The Dak/Dez relationship will be apparent tonight but the Giants won’t make it easy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have Bryant double covered tonight.
With all the drama unfolding with Ezekiel Elliott and his court case, one has to wonder if it will affect him tonight. The Giants defensive line is is a force to be reckoned with but the same can be said for Zeke. Out of everyone on the team, I believe he feels like he has something to prove and I wouldn’t be surprised if he accrues over 100 yards tonight.
It is uncertain whether Odell Beckham will play tonight, but chances are he will make an appearance. If so, he and Eli Manning will give our secondary a challenge. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a sack or two from Benson Mayowa though.
What it will boil down to tonight will be the Dallas offense against the Giants’ defense. I predict a Dallas win with a score of 24-17. Go Cowboys!
