The Dallas Mavericks have signed a familiar face and he’ll join the team when they visit the Denver Nuggets Thursday night.
Josh Akognon wrapped up his season in China scoring 29 points per game for Liaoning.
Akognon was part of the Mavs training camp and preseason roster that made trips to both Germany and Spain. An electric shooter and scorer, the Cal State Fullerton alum was Dallas’ final trim before the regular season.
The 5’11” guard will get his shot at a 10-day contract with the Mavs. He’ll be the next in line following the likes of Mike James (signed for season), Chris Wright and Justin Dentmon.
With just eight games left and thirteen days before the end of the season, it’s possible Akognon finishes the year as a Maverick.
