I understand that I it in the minority when I tell you this weekend is one of the most exciting sporting events of the year. Growing up, I couldn’t fathom being excited to sit down an entire weekend in front of a television to see grown men hit a tiny ball into what seemed like an even tinier hole. Golf was the thing that made my uncles fall asleep at our birthday parties.

Now, golf is by far the most enjoyable weekend event, not to mention the return of a certain G.O.A.T. candidate. Even the simple, yet amazing Par 3 competition is an amazing warm up event to the entire weekend. Looking at the list to total events, they also have a “Drive, Chip and Putt” competition for children of all ages over the country.

The Masters itself is a sacred event where the matchups can make or break out viewing pleasure and once again this year will dazzle. Some of my favorite pairings, you might ask? Why thank you for possible asking.

At 10:42 a.m., Tiger Woods will tee off with Tommy Fleetwood and Marc Leishman. Although the best name on the card is Woods, Marc Leishman seems to always find his way to the top level of the scoreboard. At 10:53, Sergio Garcia will tee off with Justin Thomas and Doc Redman. Sergio has changed his life in the past couple years and stopped blaming idiotic reasons for his lack of winning (google search when he blamed the people cheering for Tiger for his bad putting). My personal favorite pairing is at 11:04, where Jason Day, Bubba Watson and Henrik Stenson golf together. Three of the largest names in golf together? Yes, please. I literally could go on and name my next 7 favorite pairings, but for the sake of the lecture I’ll just be in front of my tv all day.

If you have never sat down and tried to watch a golf event, this weekend is the time to try. The Masters is magical, and the top shots will be played over and over again throughout the year. Personally, I want a big name guy to win like Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth or of course Tiger Woods.

Although Tiger has the best Vegas odds to win The Masters, we can all agree it seems a far stretch to the average fan. If he does pull off this miracle win, it will be the largest golf moment in the history of the sport. Winning this Masters after the adversity thats faced Woods will put him overtop of Jack, barring another life set back.
