Wrap Up: Monta Ellis’ Goes Buck Hunting

WrapUpReport18

MILWAUKEE, WI – It was another late thriller for the Mavs as they improved to 15-5 on the season after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 107-105 to complete the sweep of their four-game road trip.  The Mavs were playing on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the Chicago Bulls in a double overtime thriller 132-129. The Bucks came into tonight’s game on a two-game losing streak after a three-point loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night and a 14-point loss against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night.

Midway through the third quarter, the Mavs went on a 10-0 run, picked up their efficiency on defensive and gained their first lead of the game, 69-68. But they continued to struggle on the offensive end and failed to hold the lead.  Out of nowhere, Jared Dudley came in for the Bucks hitting two big threes early in the fourth quarter to put the Mavs in another big hole.  The Mavs went zone defensive coverage in the second half that the Bucks could not seem to figure out, but continued to keep the lead. The lead bounced back and forth for much of the fourth quarter. Then, with the game tied at 105 with 8.9 seconds left the Mavs put the ball in Monta Ellis’ hands and here’s what happened:
