Legends Look to Extend Win Streak to 3 Against Canton

The Legends will return home Wednesday night to take on the Canton Charge, the G League affiliates of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Texas closed out their recent three game road trip with two wins, against the Austin Spurs and Iowa Wolves. They will be looking tack on another win and improve their record to 7-5.

Texas has been led by guard Justin Dentmon. He has been particularly fantastic over the last four contests, throwing up point totals of 34, 48, 19, and 30. Dentmon is the team’s current leading scorer at a shade over 28 points per game. His perimeter presence paired with the interior skill set of former Baylor Star Jonathan Motley has helped fuel an explosive Texas offense.

Over the course of their road trip, the Legends did get some reinforcements in the form of C/F Jameel Warney and guard Donald Sloan. After their time with the Team USA qualifying squad, they gave the team a much needed lift. While Sloan has received two DNP’s, Warney has been his usual productive self off the bench for coach Bob Mckinnon. In the three games since his return, he has averaged 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds.

As for Canton, they come into Wednesday’s contest riding a two game losing streak and sport of record of 3 wins and 7 losses. However, they do feature one of the larger names in the G League in big man Kendrick Perkins. The former NBA champion has helped anchor the Charge with season averages of 11.4 points and 8.8 rebounds. While Perk mans the middle, guard John Holland heads their perimeter attack. The former Boston University standout leads their ream averaging nearly 20 points per outing.

The Legends have been hovering around .500 all season, and have a real chance to string together some wins and give themselves some cushion in the standings. Taking on a struggling Canton team, now is a prime opportunity for them to do so.

You can catch the game live at Dr.Pepper Arena in Frisco. If you can’t make it out, steaming options are available on the team website or via the G League Mobile app. Tip off is at 7 p.m. CST.
