Legends Host Blue to Begin Home Back-to-Back

The Texas Legends (7-9) will look to set their best foot forward when they host the Oklahoma City Blue (8-8) at Dr. Pepper Arena on Friday night.

Texas, loser of 4 of its last 5, is looking to rid itself of early season inconsistencies that have kept the team hovering around the .500 mark.

The Legends will be without the services of guard Keith Hornsby for an undetermined amount of time after he suffered a shoulder injury during their December 6th home loss to the Canton Charge.  As Hornsby was forced out of the lineup, a recent acquisition made his Legends debut on Wednesday night during the team’s 111-100 loss at the Raptors 905.

Wade Baldwin, a two-way contract player for the Portland Trail Blazers, scored 12 points in 30 minutes in his first game with the Legends after being acquired in a move two weeks ago.

Baldwin, the Memphis Grizzlies’ first round pick of the 2016 NBA Draft. has had his share of moving from team to team and injuries to start his young professional career.  When asked about what he thought about joining the Legends he said, “I’m just excited to play anywhere.  I like the way they play; they seem to be in sync. I just can’t wait to get started.”

In addition to Horsnby, the Legends will be continue to be without two-way contract players Johnathan Motley and Antonius Cleveland as both continue to be on the Dallas Mavericks’ active roster.

The Blue are coming off a narrow 121-119 loss at home to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Wednesday night.  This will be the third time this season the Blue and the Legends have faced each other.  On November 14th, the Legends lost in OKC 122-118 and the Legends defeated OKC several nights later during their home opener, 129-123.
