Dallas Cowboys Honor Past With Ring of Honor Walk

It was back to the future at “The Star” in Frisco on Monday as the Dallas Cowboys honored its past by officially unveiling the Ring of Honor Walk while its future – the current players – held their first training camp back in Dallas.

In a tribute to its illustrious past, the Ring of Honor Walk, presented by Dr. Pepper, salutes and celebrates all 21 members of the franchise’s legendary players and contributors: Bob Lilly, Don Meredith, Don Perkins, Chuck Howley, Mel Renfro, Roger Staubach, Lee Roy Jordan, Tom Landry, Tony Dorsett, Randy White, Bob Hayes, Tex Schramm, Cliff Harris, Rayfield Wright, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Drew Pearson, Charles Haley, Larry Allen and Darren Woodson.

A Ring of Honor mural representing the honorees was unveiled on the east and west ends of the plaza, and each member’s honorary monument was revealed. Attending the ceremony were 16 members of the Ring, as well as the families of Meredith, Landry, Hayes and Schramm.

Cowboys Dallas Training Camp Now Open To All

Back from California, the current Cowboys roster held the first of six practices in two weeks on Monday and saw a crowd of more than 6,000. The team has two preseason games left: Saturday Aug. 26th vs the Oakland Raiders and Thursday, Aug. 31st at Houston Texans.

The team has opened up fan access to its remaining training camp practices at Ford Center at The Star. Tickets that were distributed previously for 2017 Training Camp practices at Ford Center at The Star will still be honored, but a ticket to enter the building will no longer be required, a statement from the team read.

Five more practices are scheduled between August 22-24 and August 28-29.  Admission and parking to all practices is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and check the website at thestarinfrisco.com calendar for parking updates.
